The BTEC Tech Award in 健康 and Social Care is an introduction to vocational learning. The Award give learners the opportunity to develop skills that show an aptitude for further learning both in the health and social care sector and more widely.
Study of this 健康 and Social Care at Key Stage 4 will complement GCSE study through providing an opportunity for practical application alongside conceptual study. There are also strong opportunities for post-16 progression in this important sector.
The BTEC Tech Award is made up of three components:
Component 1 Human Lifespan Development
In this component, learners will study how people grow and develop over the course of their life, from infancy to old age, this includes physical, intellectual, emotional and social development, and the different factors that may affect them.
Component 2 健康 and Social Care Services and Values
This component will give learners an understanding of health and social care services and will help them develop skills in applying care values that are common across the sector.
Component 3 健康 and Wellbeing
In this component, learners look at the factors that can have a positive or negative influence on a personÕs health and wellbeing. They will learn to interpret physiological and lifestyle indicators, and what they mean for someoneÕs state of health. They will learn how to use this information to design an appropriate plan for improving someoneÕs health and wellbeing, including short- and long-term targets. Additionally, they will explore the difficulties an individual may face when trying to make these changes.
BTEC National Diploma in 健康 and Social Care
This qualification has been designed to account for two-thirds of a two-year, full-time study programme for learners who are intending to go onto further study in a related sector. It supports access to a range of higher education courses if taken as part of a programme of study that includes another BTEC or A Level alongside it.
The BTEC National Diploma in 健康 and Social Care is made up of eight units of study.
